Four Easy Ways to Re-invent Leftovers

Don’t let leftovers go to waste! Re-inventing leftovers will not only save you money and limit food waste, it will also motivate you to get creative in the kitchen! Let our four easy tips inspire you.

#1: Add a sauce

Whip up an easy sauce and drizzle it over leftover protein for an entirely new flavor. Try one of our three all-time favorite recipes — Basil Pesto, Honey Mustard, and Romesco — which each take less than ten minutes to prep.

#2: Put it in a stir-fry

Stir-fry leftover meat and vegetables, whether raw or cooked, and add in noodles or rice for a one-skillet dinner — fast and delicious.

#3: Wrap it in a taco

Leftover proteins such as beef, chicken breast, or pork tenderloin spell taco night! Chop up proteins and lay out the usual fixings: lettuce, salsa, white onion, guacamole, cilantro, sour cream, shredded cheese, and if you have leftover veggies, throw those in too!

#4: Make a soup

Leftover meat or seafood, noodles, grains, and seasoning added to broth makes for a tasty and hearty soup. Other leftovers such as gravies, mashed potatoes, and cream-based sauces are not only great thickening agents, but also add flavor.

Leftovers are a great way to save money, waste and impress yourself with what you create so…let’s get cooking!
